I got a thorough and excellent comment/review on The Shortcut that I absolutely adore, even though it mainly pointed out faults in the fic & gave advice on how to fix them. (In a nice, neutral kind of way)

Here:
"Ok. As a first effort this is very good.
It is internally consistent in its characterisation, which is very stereotypical yaoi, and the writing style flows well, although once again it closely mirrors established boys love patterns.

My main problem with this is that is does not fit with Doumeki in either the manga or anime, or that if it does and this is a separate reading, it is not justified within this piece. I think this could be solved by putting more emphasis on the characterisation, which is possible in porn and can be expressed by the manner in which they seduce and give and receive pleasure. In Doumeki's case this could be the choice of location, the way he undresses or is undressed, the style of not he ties in Kimihiro's gag etc.
However, these must be subtly justified within the piece so that readers with a different reading of the characters don't dismiss the piece as being of a poor quality.

Once again as a first effort this is very good.

1. Since it was my first smut ever, I decided to keep it simple and understandable. To me and to others. So yes, stereotypical yaoi.
